Wardrobe, Tip 1

The hardest question everyone asks themselves after booking a photo session is "What will we wear?". I totally understand! And I'm here to help!

My first tip is to start with yourself, pick your outfit Then you can pull your colors and textures and build up from that starter piece. Another good starting point is to think of the colors in your home (these images will be on your walls after all) or maybe your favorite color, then go from there. However with that in mind some colors I highly recommend are neutral colors, so shades of brown like kaki, beige, brown, denim, white, cream, rust orange.

Dress up, Not down, Tip 2

What I mean by this is don't wear what you would wear on a daily. This is your excuse to dress up and have fun with it! If you normally wear pants and leggings maybe buy a nice dress, i love long flowy maxi dresses. If dresses are just not your thing the dress up your top, https://www.pinterest.com/ always has great outfit ideas for every season, its my go to when im looking for outfits for my own photos.

Colors & Textures & Extras, Tip 3

color: make sure the colors you choose compliment each other. Colors that will stand out best are muted, earthy tones. Some examples are: mustard yellow, mauve pink, browns or khaki, dark blue, rust, dark reds/oranges. I also love Blacks and floral! Think of our shooting location if you know it is going to be a really green location please do not wear green, or if you do make sure the other subjects are wearing something different like black, khaki, white, cream or etc..

Textures & layers: Layers add texture and textures add interest. Denim, chunky knits, lace, cords, etc. I love the way a chunky cardigan looks. Or a denim or plaid shirt tied at the waist. These are all great ways to incorporate your style.

Accessorize it: hats, scarves, jewelry, blankets, headbands, suspenders, etc. All these things are a great way to add another layer of your style into your session.

MAKE IT YOUR OWN: this session is about you! And it's so important to make sure that your family's personality shines through in every aspect.
